"A lack of compassion"

Perhaps the reason why so many of us are without compassion is simply that we can not understand someone else's pain or condition. Suppose that this cabinet were to contain vials of experiences. One might be the essence of a "Jew in Auschwitz" or another might be of a "Heroin Addict" and another of a "Homeless Person Begging for Change." It is possible that a small sip of an experience could create compassion in a world, which exhibits very little.
